Featuring an adjustable headband, soft protein-skin ear cushions, a rotating microphone, and USB-powered RGB lighting, it provides a comfortable and engaging audio experience for gaming, movies, calls, and everyday use.

Who Is the HP DHE-8011 Gaming Headset For?

This HP headset is suitable for:

• PC and laptop gamers: Enjoy stereo audio and communicate with teammates through the built-in microphone.
• Console gamers: Use compatible devices with a 3.5mm audio connection.
• Students and online learners: Support online lessons, virtual meetings, and voice communication.
• Movie and anime enthusiasts: Enjoy immersive audio while watching movies, cartoons, TV series, and other entertainment.
• Everyday users: Handle compatible audio calls and listening activities with a wired headset.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Over-Ear Design for Comfortable Listening

The HP DHE-8011 features an over-ear design with soft protein-skin ear cushions and sound-isolating foam. The cushions help reduce some surrounding noise while providing a comfortable fit during gaming and entertainment sessions.

The adjustable headband allows users to adapt the headset to their head size for a more secure fit.

2. Clear Stereo Sound Output

Stereo sound delivers separate left and right audio channels, helping create a more engaging listening experience. This is useful when playing games, watching films, listening to music, or participating in voice conversations.

For gamers, stereo audio can help distinguish sounds coming from different directions in supported games, although the headset should not be assumed to provide virtual surround sound.

3. Built-In Noise-Cancelling Microphone

The headset includes a microphone designed to improve voice clarity during gaming communication and calls. It helps users communicate with teammates, colleagues, classmates, and other participants.

The microphone is useful for online multiplayer gaming, virtual meetings, and other activities that require voice input.

4. Rotating Adjustable Microphone

The rotating microphone can be repositioned when needed and moved out of the way when it is not in use. This provides flexibility for users who alternate between voice communication and listening.

5. USB-Powered RGB Lighting

The HP DHE-8011 includes RGB lighting effects powered through USB. The lighting adds a gaming-oriented appearance to a desk setup, making it suitable for gaming rooms and computer entertainment spaces.

The USB connection powers the lighting effects; the 3.5mm audio jack provides the headset’s standard audio connection.

6. Wired 3.5mm Audio Connectivity

The headset uses a standard 3.5mm audio jack for compatible audio devices. This makes it suitable for supported PCs, laptops, smartphones, and gaming consoles.

Before purchasing, check whether your device has a compatible 3.5mm audio port. Some computers and consoles may require an adapter or separate microphone connection, depending on their port configuration.

7. Convenient In-Line Volume Control

The headset features remote push-button controls for convenient audio adjustments. Users can change the volume without repeatedly navigating software settings or interrupting gameplay.

This is particularly useful during gaming sessions, video playback, and online communication.

8. Durable Plastic Construction

The headset is constructed from plastic and designed for regular indoor use. Its soft ear cushions and adjustable headband support everyday listening, while careful handling can help preserve the headset’s condition.

The product is not water-resistant, so it should be kept away from moisture and liquids.

9. Tangle-Free Cable Design

The supplied product details describe a retractable, durable cable design intended to simplify handling and storage. Keeping the cable neatly arranged can help reduce tangling and unnecessary strain on the connections.

HP DHE-8011 Headset for Gaming, Movies and Everyday Use

The HP DHE-8011 is designed for more than gaming. Its wired connectivity, microphone, stereo audio, and USB-powered lighting make it suitable for several everyday activities.

Gaming: Use the headset for compatible PC and console games that support its audio connection. The microphone allows voice communication where device and game settings support it.

Movies and entertainment: The over-ear cushions and stereo sound provide an engaging way to watch movies, anime, cartoons, and TV series without relying on external speakers.

Online learning: Students can use the headset for virtual classes, recorded lessons, and online discussions on compatible computers.

Video calls: The built-in microphone supports voice input for compatible communication applications.

Home computer use: The headset can serve as an everyday audio accessory for users who prefer wired connectivity over Bluetooth.

Understanding USB and 3.5mm Connections

The HP DHE-8011 uses two connection types for different purposes.

Connection                                     Primary purpose

3.5mm audio jack                               Standard wired audio connection

USB connection                                  Powers the headset’s lighting effects

This distinction is important when setting up the headset. Connecting the USB cable alone should not be assumed to provide audio, because the product specifications identify the 3.5mm jack as its audio interface.

For the best results, connect the audio jack to a compatible audio port and connect USB to a suitable power source for the lighting.

Compatibility with PCs, Laptops and Consoles

The HP DHE-8011 is listed as compatible with laptops, PCs, smartphones, and gaming consoles that support its wired audio connection.

However, compatibility depends on the available ports and the way each device handles audio and microphone input.

• Desktop computers: Check whether the computer has a combined headset port or separate headphone and microphone ports.
• Laptops: Connect to a compatible 3.5mm audio port.
• Smartphones: A compatible 3.5mm port or suitable adapter may be required.
• Gaming consoles: Confirm that the console controller or device supports the headset’s audio connection.
• USB ports: Use USB for the specified lighting power function.

The product is wired, so it should not be purchased with the expectation of Bluetooth connectivity or wireless operation.

How to Care for Your HP Gaming Headset

Proper handling helps maintain the headset’s appearance and functionality.

• Store the headset in a clean, dry location after use.
• Avoid pulling the cable when disconnecting it; hold the connector instead.
• Keep the headset away from water, excessive moisture, and direct liquid spills.
• Clean the ear cushions gently with a suitable, slightly damp cloth, avoiding excessive moisture.
• Avoid bending the microphone or headband beyond their normal range of movement.
• Keep the cable organised to reduce tangling and strain.
• Disconnect the headset carefully when moving or packing your computer setup.

The headset has no stated water-resistance rating, so it is best suited to indoor environments.

Choosing the Right Gaming Headset in Ghana

When shopping for headphones or a gaming headset in Ghana, consider the connection type, microphone requirements, comfort, sound output, and intended use.

Wired versus Bluetooth headphones: Wired headsets such as the HP DHE-8011 connect through a cable and do not require Bluetooth pairing. Bluetooth headphones offer wireless convenience but depend on battery power and compatible wireless connectivity.

Gaming headset versus ordinary headphones: A gaming headset includes a microphone for voice communication. Ordinary headphones may focus primarily on listening and might not include a built-in microphone.

USB versus 3.5mm headsets: Some headsets use USB for both digital audio and power, while others use a 3.5mm connection for audio. The HP DHE-8011 uses the 3.5mm jack for audio and USB for its lighting effects.

Comfort and fit: Adjustable headbands and soft ear cushions are useful for extended listening. Buyers should also consider the headset’s weight and how it fits their head.

Customers comparing HP headsets with JBL headphones, Sony headsets, Oraimo headphones, Beats headphones, Bose headphones, P9 headphones, Apple headphones, or VR headsets should compare the actual connection type, microphone, intended use, and available features rather than brand name alone.
